Hi guys,

Real quick one, I am moving out on 11th September and the agents are already requesting a time for people to view this weekend coming.

The property in question has a few accidental holes which I was hoping to repair during next week (nothing serious, just a bit of filler and touch up paint).

Also a cupboard draw has a huge dent/crack in the facial wood, I was hoping to replace the draw door entirely like for like during next week as well.

The above issues are the only issues and are simply a cause from accidental stupidity lol.

Anyway, am I ok to tell the agents about these and that I will repair or shall I just say this weekend is not good and nor is it good until mid next week?

Thanks

Delay it, i would insist that you did not carry out the repairs if you were my tenant. If i didnt ever know, then i guess i wouldnt ever know. I am sure it happens all the time.

The seriousness of the damage should be proportional to the amount of deposit you will loose. As above delay if you can and make the holes go away.

I'd fess up and let the agent know that you will make good the damage to their required standards prior to vacating the property. If you dont, they then take the reapir fee out of your deposit and carry out the repairs.

Just wondering through blind curiosity, how did you get a few 'accidental holes' and also how the door front got cracked?

Delay, and don't tell the agency anything. They and the landlord will attempt to rip you off massively if they can.

I wouldn't worry about it tbh unless its serious damage that is causing decay or value loss to the property itself.

This is a viewing for other people to see the place, it is not an inspection, so nothing can be done if it is only visual.

The holes are so minor it will cost me less than a 10er to sort.

I was honest with the agency, they said they will stop any visits until next weekend to give me time to repair any minor damages.

I didn't tell them where or what door was damaged so they will have to look for the repairs.

I will have a crack at it on Monday, or possibly tonight... In Brighton over the weekend :(
