Hey guys,

Since getting the Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 (2x2gb Sticks)

I have overclocked again.

Everything is relitively at stock,

Vcore is at 1.3v
NB 1.3v
Dram 2.1v
SB 1.10v
Sata 1.50v

My overclock is currently:

I am quite content with 3.2ghz I know I can do more but im chuffed as its really my first proper overclock in years!:D:o

Now the question sis my memory is running at 855 Frequency with the FSB to Northbridge Strap at 333.

While PC8500 has a max Frequency of 1066... is my overclock bad in this sense?

I know I should be closer to 1066 and have the selection of different FSB to NB Strap's but it sometimes pushes it over 1066...(is this advisable)

Please help im so close :)

its fine to go over 1066Mhz, at 8x450 on my board with 333 strap puts RAM at 1080Mhz. Previous overclocks on a different strap had my RAM running at 1141Mhz but on a different strap - thing flew and was good for the benchies but thats the only difference you will really see it :)

You don't have to change the FSB to run higher memory frequencies..

You can run your memory at a higher speeds by changing the memory ratio. Changing the memory ratio effectively forces your memory to run Asyncronously with the FSB. Look in the BIOS for available memory frequencies.

Thanks for the tips people ill change the frequency when I get back home...hope it isnt too fussy aka needing more volts etc

OK I currently have my memory in sync (slightly over 1066) but running at FSB to Northbridge Strap 266mhz...is this an issue as everyone keeps saying 333mhz is better?

400 is the best strap but at that clock 266 will be fine ;)
