About to upgrade for the first time in a few years, have done a good bit of research here, and have narrowed it down to the following - is this the best stuff to go for in this bracket, or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Am replacing the following:

Q9650
Asus P5KC
OCZ DDR2 (cant remember the spec off hand)

with:

2500K
Asus P8Z68 -V Pro
G.Skill Ripjaws x 8GB DDR3 PC3 - 12800 1600MHz
Crucial M4 128gb

All to go with my existing Thermaltake LCS case, Nvidia 280GTX, and BFG 1000w power supply and 7200.11 Barracuda HDDs

My main query is with regards to the motherboard, i have read mostly positive reviews for the Asus, but see that the Asrock Z68 Extreme 4 is at the very least comparable, if not slightly better. The Asus also appears to have a problem when certain PCI slots are filled, other ports get disabled. It also has the benefit (for me), that it has holes on the mobo to accept a socket 775 cooler, which my Thermaltake LCS case has. For £10 i can buy an adapter though, so its not a deal winner.

For info the rig is mostly to play FSX and DCS A10 Warthog

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Fair comment, should have stated that I will also do a bit of VmWare stuff on there as well, so the ram will help support the virtual machines.

I think my main concern is the mobo, I would like to order this stuff tomorrow but really don't know which way to jump!
