Quick secondary harddrive question please

Hi all and thanks in advance.

What it is, i just bought a new sata harddrive to be my secondary harddrive, my master is also a sata. I have connected it correctly inside my case, when i go into my computer i cannot see the new hard drive. When i go on device manager i can see both hard drives on 'disk drives'. What do i need to do to get it correctly working ?

You need to go into Control Panel>Admin tools > Computer Management> Disk Management and creat the partition/format the drive from there.

Brand new HDD need to be initialised.

Right click on "My Computer" then "Manage", in the new window go to "Disk Management" and you'll see the the HDD in there, right click on that and there should be an option for you to initialise the drive. After that just assign a drive letter then format and it's ready.

It'll ask you to initialise it first though, a wizard should pop up when you open disk management.
