Quick Shogun 2 question

Hey all,

This is a really quick one. I'm a total newbie to TW and am finding it hard. Finally won some battles and managed to beat them and capture the castle.

What I don't get is that I got attacked again just after winning it but I had to re-attack the castle?? I understand that nearby enemy armies may come and get me if I win a battle but surely if I just won the castle I should be defending it??

Also I attacked with just one army, should I have had another 'backup' army nearby or what not?? I'm confused!!!
 
Yea I don't even have a chance to move my army on the campaign map at all. I win the castle by taking the tekshu (thnk its called that) and then it tells me I won. Then as soon as the campaign screen comes back up I get attacked again and have to re-take the castle :(
 
Well I had just 1 army and attacked the city in their province. I was the attacker, not the defender. I attacked their castle and won (like the advanced battle tutorial). As soon as I see the result of the battle which i have won, it takes me to the campaign screen. Before I can click anything the enemy attacks me again with another of their army (which was hidden in the fog). When this battle starts I have to again attack the castle. I just dont get why I have to take the castle twice in effect. After taking it the first time, I cant survive a second instant attack.

Sorry I cant really elaborate more than that :(
 
hehe ok, I've tried to take pictures that I think will help

Here is the city/castle I am attacking. Called Settsu. I am right clicking it with my army and then choosing to fight the battle myself.

I win this battle by capturing the enemies castle by standing by the main building within the walls (for this instance I have just auto battled). As soon as I hit the campaign screen, the city i have attacked is burning and i get attacked instantly.

Sorry if they still dont make any sense whatsoever but its hard to know what exactly pics you need :(

If I remember correctly, NPC armies can't move during your turn. So you must have ended the turn somehow.

Did the opponents come out of the castle an start the initial battle against you, or did you attack the castle? Because if they attacked you then you merely fought them off rather than taking the fort.

I didn't end the turn (or at least did not push the end turn button), dont know if it automatically does it?

I am definitely attacking the fort and not an army 'leaving' the fort to meet me. I initiated the battle, and have the choice to; Continue seige, auto complete battle, fight it myself or break/leave the siege. Like I say, I am winning the fort/castle and getting inside it (on the battle map, by capturing the flag nearest the important building) and winning that way. It's just literally after the card where it gives you a break down of how many you killed and lost etc (Heroic victory at top) another battle starts and I have to take the fort/castle again.


Really sorry guys, it seems so simple to explain in my head lol but I'm obviously failing. I do appreciate the help.
