Quick SLI 8800 GT Question

Hi,

this is probably going to sound very stupid but......

If I am running a decent spec system and I have one 8800GT. And then I buy another 8800GT does your frame rate / 3dmark score whatever DOUBLE?

Ie. Does another graphics card pretty much (roughly) double the fps capability?

Just curious...

Also does your monitor make any difference to onling gaming? thanks x

Monitor differences.... well if you have a higher resolution then the GPU does more work and your frame rate will be slower

For SLI... anything from no difference to a 70% gain

I've found it ok in the past

IMO I would sell the GT and put that money and the money from your new GT, and just buy an 8800GTX

Thats good advice, i think the OCUK GTX is only what £220 now ?

oh lol! How much does a 8800 GT go for second hand these days? I've only had it like a week or two and its hardly been used and not overclocked once.

At low res you'll see little to no difference. In 3DMark06 I only get around 800 more marks in SLI.

Once you crank up the res. and the AA/AS, though, then there's a bigger difference.
