Just want to check the above looks decent. Planning on some gentle overclocking (probably just oc the chip to run at the same fsb as the memory default speed).

The other thing that is a big concern for me is how loud the components are. My current rig is far far to loud (especially the 550w antec PSU and my liteon optical drives). So i'm wondering if any of the components i've chosen could be replaced with quieter models/brands?

Looks good. Just change the DVD Drive to a SATA one:

Maybe go for a CPU Cooler like the Noctua or Tuniq Tower if you would like to get that extra performance out of your chip.

Should be a nice quiet system you have their. :D
Cheers for the reply.

I'm less worried about bleeding edge performance than i am about the noise of the rig. So i'll probably stick with the retail hs/fan (as they tend to be quiet) ... even if it costs some overclocking potential.

if u go for a bigger cooler not only will it cool your cpu better but also be quieter.

My E6300 at stock was less than 20 degrees, my HSF stopped spinning as it wasnt needed.

Get a Scythe Ninja, you wont hear a thing.
