Hi all,

I'd appreciate any of you -up-to-date knowledgeable lot out there casting a quick eye over this potential build....

I need to add a FANLESS reasonable quality gfx card <£120. Anyone suggest - preferably nVidia based, I don't play games - just for photo editing and video/mpg

I haven't yet found a case I like.... I'm looking now.

The reason I'm only having 2Gb of RAM is that I intend using my XP Pro (I DESPISE Vista!!)

Anything better value than what I've selected?

Many thanks folks.

You can drop the mobo down and get a P43, look at the gigayte GE-EP43-DS3L, that'll save you £30, here
This gfx card would meet your spec (and only £50) but you aint gonna be able to game on it, if you're not bothered about that then go for it
I'd invest in a better PSU, if you buy this week look at this Corsair one, you dont really need the wattage but its cheap, if you buy later then just get the 450, that'll do you anyway
If you get a decent cooler you can OC the CPU quite well, if you're wanting it all fanless and quiet then look at the TRUE, here
I take it you've already got a case and O/S? If not I'd look at the antec P182, nice and quiet

lil bit more you can get a nice modular PSU which will help keep your case tidy :)

Also for graphics editing i would go for an upgrade in ram to the 4GB set, XP pro will still use up to 3.5gb of it and for editing its worth it. Or if you choose XP 64 bit you can use it all.

For the disc drives the LG is supposed to be quiet and also saves you a couple £

I'm running a 512MB Sparkle 9800GT Silent Cool Pipe... it's passively cooled, so utterly silent, and runs cooler than the 8800GT (with fan) in my second PC!
