Quick spec check - so many choices.....

Haven't really been following what's hot and what's not in the conroe area recently, so can you quickly give this spec for a friend the once over:

---- Basically is that ram ok with that board

Conroe 6300 oem
Gigabyte DS3
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 PK PC2-6400 (light blue one)
Titan Vanessa-L

He's mainly going to be doing music, film and photo editing, but he wants to be able to play games, currently have him lined up with a X1900gt but could drop that down if I'm going to see worthwhile benefits in this area (certainly want nothing weaker than a 7600gt)

Nope, unless there has been a bios flash recently it is only the GSkill HZ Ram that works ok with the DS3/DS4, you could change it to Geil PC6400 and it should be fine.

I think I'd pick the X1950pro over the X1900gt, they cost about the same but I think the performance is a bit better on the X1950pro.
