My friend is buying this, all i've advised him on was changing the 7600GS to an x1950 Pro.

Havn't specced a conroe rig before, any changes?

I'd suggest changing the motherboard to a Gigabyte DS3 or DS4, both are cheaper and allow better overclocking of the 6300 and 6400 chips. I'd get PC5300 Ram or PC6400 Ram, either will be better for overclocking also. I'd change the DVDRW for either an NEC or Pioneer model but other than that it should be fine. Does your friend already have a hard drive?

//edit oh and if overclocking you will probably also want a better heatsink. :)
