Sorry to start another spec check thread but something, either my motherboard or graphics card, has just died and I can't work out which it is (the thread's here if anyone's got any ideas?).
I'm thinking of ordering this little lot to replace the system in my sig if it looks ok.
Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case - No PSU (Gun Metal Black) (£88.11)
Intel Core 2 Quad LGA775 Q6600 2.40GHz Retail / Asus P5K / 2GB Corsair PC2-6400C4 DDR2 Dual Channel Kit - Bundle(£260.81)
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic 64-Bit Edition DVD - OEM - 1Pk (£56.39)
OcUK GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (£178.59)
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB) (£37.59)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (£45.81)
Yate Loon D12SL-12 120mm Case Fan - 4 Pin (£17.58)
Yate Loon D12SM-12 120mm Case Fan - 4 Pin (£5.86)
Total : £690.76
I've gone for the extra RAM as I've heard the 1gb sticks clock better than the 2gb sticks and I think 4gb would give better future proofing, especially with Vista needing a fair bit of ram as it is.
I've already got a 580w psu, dvd drives and a thermalright 120-ultra which I'll be lapping before it gets installed. And I've got a 24" Dell monitor on the way, hence the gts over the gt.
