Looks mostly OK, I would get an E5200 and maybe a Gigabyte P31-ES3G and an Akasa 965 cooler, then spend the saved money on a bigger HDD, your really wanting something in the 500GB territority if hes planning on gaming Seagate 500GB 7200.12 is only £42 and would be fully worth the extra money). Also unless you have some spare 120mm fans its prob worth grabbing two cheap quite ones for the case to get optimal cooling.
Agree re HDD, you'd see a good improvement with a decent HDD with 32mb cache, that sytem would look something like this, slightly cheaper case and PSU but still good
at that res, quite well, though quoting crysis isnt really best comparison as it demands lots from even a 2k spec machine, but this spec would certainly run the games quite well, just dont forget to OC the CPU a bit

Your most welcome glad to help, thanks 95thrifles for actually taking the effort to sort out a proper spec from my suggestion . I would say with the CPU clocked (Aim for 3.6 ) you should play crysis on that at high in DX10 with 2x AA and it should be fine. My 8800GT manages that (though its pretty heavily OCd). Farcry 2 should play a bit better.
