Thanks change it if you want I've £1000 i need to order before 5pm.

Looks good.

But what is the system for? Also, do you need and other stuff like HDD, Case, OS, Optical Drive?

Also, do you plan on adding a second 5870 in crossfire at some point in the future?

Its for gaming, no crossfire later on. I've got all the other stuff. If anyone can do it cheaper that would be good to. :D

you can order that with no problems.

Lucky you said the psu was for another system, I was going to have a moan.

There are cheaper motherboards such as the M4A79XTD-EVO, but it doesn't have all the features of that.

They both can take the new AMD HEX core cpus released soon too, so wont be out of date like a i5 setup.

In that case I would suggest going for an i5 750 CPU and P55 motherboard. This motherboard is a good price and overclocks well. If you are able to spend £15 more, this is well worth it. Also, if you haven't already got one - get a CPU cooler. With a decent one like this you can expect to get a nice 1GHz overclock with the i5 chip.

Using the same RAM that you picked, its good stuff.

In games the i5 is always as fast or faster than the Phenom II (at stock speeds) and overclocks much better than the AMD chip.

ive also changed to an i5, comes in just above budget but heck its £4 plus with that your getting a very good cpu in the i5 and secondly your gettin 6gb of ram instead of 4gb ...

I wouldn't suggest going for the 6GB (3x2GB) kit on a P55 board (or AM3 for that matter). It will just default to single channel mode - which will make it much slower than 4GB in dual channel mode. The 3x2GB kits are for X58 boards which run the RAM in triple channel mode.

IMHO, this is the best RAM to go for with the spec you put up, really fast and works great with the P55 board.

This look ok? I'm using a corsair H50 cooler.

Sweet, should be a sweet PC :D

What are your thoughts on overclocking and aftermarket CPU coolers?

Also, what PSU will be used with the i5/5870 system?

I've no oveclocking experience with Intel just shoving the multi up on Amd's lol.

I love the H50 cooler will that be ok for a good overclock?

My PSU is a corsair tx 650 will that be enough?

Fair enough. The overclocking on the i5 is bit more involved (increasing BCLK and CPU Voltage), but certainly not hard.

The H50 cooler is great. If you get overclocking down, then overclocking of 4GHz is very do-able. Btw, does your H50 have s1156 mounts? If not then you may need to pick some up from the corsair site.

The PSU is great. No worries at all.
