Hi guys, just a quick one.

I'm finding my main rig increasingly slow and looking back it's probably around 5/6 years since its had an upgrade. I've neglected to keep on top of what's new and who's doing what so if you guys could help me out, that would be ace!

Here's how it currently stands (Don't laugh)

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.01Ghz
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Mobo
1.5 GB RAM
Sapphire RADEON X800 GT (PCI-Express x16)
2 IDE Hard drives (1.5tb)
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy

Basically I've got around £150 and I just want to upgrade the CPU, Mobo and the RAM. I don't play games, I just use this machine for web development so Photoshop, coding software and SQL databases.

I've always used AMD but I don't mind switching. Can't think of anything else.

Cheers.

Thanks RJC

The Athlon II X4 Quad Core is a better choice than the Phenom II X2 Dual 555?

Also would the motherboard be your choice after its finished being on offer? I'm unlikely to order this week.

Definitely. Twice as many cores, identical clock speed.

And yes, I would still opt for that mobo. But if you need something cheaper, you could get
this

Good quality, reputable brand, everything you need - just not much else :)
