Hi guys

Got a really quick question regarding installing steam on my new machine. I have two 64gb SSD's i am using 1 for my OS and applications and the other 1 for my games. Would i be better off installing steam on the SSD with my OS and then pointing the steam apps folder to be SSD with my games on? (if thats actually possible) or would i be better off just installing steam itself on my gaming ssd? Looking at the same idea for origin as well really.

Hope you can help

Liam

Just one more quick thing, when you run the mklink command will the game still be stored on 2 hard drives so to speak? Or can i delete say the game folder for gta in the steam folder on my OS ssd as i have a copy of it now on a different ssd if you see what i mean?

thanks again

Would someone mind lending me a hand im going crazy lol I have just installed steam to my c drive which is an ssd, i have my other ssd installed now which is drive H. I backed up my steam apps folder from my old hard drive so i have copied my gta iv folder and placed it on my new ssd drive H under H:\steam games\gta iv. I went into the steam folder installed on my C drive and had to manually add the folder "common" and "gta iv" to the directory "C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\gta iv" as i had not installed anything for it to appear before. Went to the command line and typed

mklink /J "C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\gta iv" "H:\steam games\gta iv

I checked out the directory "C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\gta iv" had a shortcut which it did but it would not let me open the folder gta iv for some reason dont know if thats normal or not. Anyway i loaded up steam went to install GTA IV as its not actually installed yet and it just started downloading it again and i have no idea why.

Any ideas? Also one thing i did notice was that my c drive seemed to lose 15gb of space even tho the gta files were on the other ssd
