Quick steam question

I understand you can add none steam games to Steam.

My question is if you add a game such as GTA3 (original CD version) and launch it via Steam do your friends see 'RumbleBee is playing GTA3' like with official steam games or will they just see you as online but not doing anything.

Thanks. Yes the Shift/Tab overlay thing is another interesting point.

ooh. and does it include none steam games in your Gameplay Stats. Game time played for example

I guess I should just attach a game to it and see
