Hey,
I'm currently downloading TF2 through Steam and have sent my guest pass to a friend so he can play it as hes bringing his comp over tonight.

Am I able to transfer it to his computer when he comes so he won't have to download it again?

Cheers.

I think if you select 'backup game content' on your copy in Steam, it'll think for a while and spit out an installer for TF2 that you can transfer to your friend's machine and install the game.

You don't even need to do that..

Just copy your Steam folder across to his machine, open Steam.exe, and then sign in with his username.

All you should have to do is copy all your steam folder to his. Delete client registry.blob login to your account on his computer. Play TF2, log out then log in as him. It may download a few files but all the large files are already there. This is always how i have done it in the past

Both will work, though reflux's should be faster overall, since it;ll just copy what you need, plus I'm pretty sure steam will compress the files, so it will be faster to copy over.

Just tried reflux's idea but its asking for a key? He didn't get a key in his guest pass, any ideas?

Hes done that and on his it shows as 3 days left, hes now in and playing, but when I try and join the same server it says that my id is already in use! help!

Log in to your account on his PC. File > settings > and tick dont save account credentials.

Im not sure if this would work but it might?
