quick stupid question really about crossfire etc

right, iv not looked at hardware for years now just stuck with what i have a 4870x2 etc.

But i have a 2900xt in the cupboard, is it possible to use it in my other pic-e slot and use it in a crossfire or use it as a physics card or anything like that?

Not 100% but I believe you can only CF cards from within the same series as eachother. Eg 4870 with another 4870/50 or 5870 with a 5850 etc.
