Ok quick question, my car currently has zero tax and has been SORN and kept off road while I waited for my Log book to arrive. I now have this and I wish to tax online. When I go ahead to tax it states that the license will start from 1st May. Does that mean I can't drive it until then?

Not yet, it's for the Astra as I lost all the documents when it got stolen so I couldn't sell.

Ah right, didn't realise they nabbed all the paperwork as well. When are you looking to sell, someone I know is interested in a modded Astra VXR in blue.

Another question. I have just tried to tax my car online but it appeared that my car wasn't on the MID. I then phoned the insurance company and they cancled the policy (without telling me) when I reported the car stolen. Anyway I have that reinstated now but it's on a difference policy number and I won't get the new certificate until Wednesday due to bank holiday Monday. I still have my current certificate with the old policy number with an exp of 29/06/10. Can I tax using this at the Post Office or do they actually check the MID?

They've never checked anything apart from the piece of paper I've given them. If you were good enough I'd expect you could photoshop in a new date every year and they'd fall for it.
