Quick Thermal compound Query.

Thermal compound.

How much should be put on? should i spread it out? or just a blob in the middle?

I think i'm using to much, and i'd like lower temps on my 6600

There is a guide to applying AS5 to C2D's here. Are you using AS5, or the standard stuff?

check notcua's site and see if they have a best way displayed, if not follow the as guide should be a decent reference, and just monitor u're temps.

This is how much I put:

I followed the AS5 guide but I think that applies to Pentium Ds where they have rectangular cores. C2Ds have normal square cores I think and therefore a blob in the centre should do it.

*EDIT" now thinking about it it maybe too much.
