I brought a new waterblock from OCUK today along with a new pump as my old one has clapped out and im currently using the stock cooler on my 3900X, anyway, I though id buy an upgraded pump, so below are the parts I brought:

Now I normally use an ultra thin layer of AS5 which I spread with my finger and a latex glove, after all, its only supposed to fill the imperfections between the IHS and block, not create a barrier, the block however came with a small tube of TG Hyronaught, this stuff is quite thick and hard to spread, has anyone ever tried heating it up to make it easier to spread, in the microwave or left it in a cup of warm water for a few mins ?

Hot water yes, wouldn't chance it in a microwave

LOL no I thought as much too, I put it in hot water in the end, as its conductive............BOOM !!!
