Quick tips for locally hosting a TF2 server (the ingame 'create server' mode)?

I've used it a few times for 2vs2 lan games etc..

How can I open it to the public so one or two friends can play?

I've typed in 'status' to get the port number : 27015, and forwarded that from my router to my local IP.

But my friend (Antar

) couldn't see the server.

What else do I need to do?

I apprecaite this really isn't the best way to make a server.

fowarded your ports for steam in your router?

http://www.portforward.com/cports.htm check the router giudes and the port lists.

I think you need to forward your internal ip on your computer to the steam server port 27015

27015 and 27020, both TCP and UDP

Now that I think of it it's very possibly something silly that I was doing or not doing. Perhaps you do have it right and you just need a better guinea pig? Could be worth trying anyways in case I was the fault.

Dont.

I always use the standalone dedicated server for LAN or friend games.
