Buy 4 of those, closest thing to the OEM tyre for the 182, the OEM tyre was a perfect match for the cars handling. You've bought a fantastic handling hot hatch, dont ruin it by messing up tyre choice.

You need these my friend :) Don't put budget tyres on a 182. They are sold on being an amazing handling car. Why skimp out on the most important aspect of the car?

I have Continental on mine I really wish I got the above!

There's no way budget tyres are going on! I have over a grand coming my way soon so I'm going to have some branded bridgestone part-worn tyres (6mm) put on (£140 full set) so I'm road legal and then get the Michelin as soon as possible.

My 4 michelin tyres are all below the required tread depth and have hardly any meat on them at all. Surely the Bridgestones (just to make me road legal until I get the grand) will be better than what I have on there already.

As some of you might remember the reason why I got the car now is because my Grandad paid £2500 towards the car. (It has cost me almost £5k so far with insurance and road tax) My Grandad is 95 and I obviously wanted to accept his offer before he passed away. I've just graduated, have 2 work experiences and 2 internships under my belt with big firms. I'm confident a graduate job is only a matter of time.

Can't you borrow money from folks until this £1k comes your way and then pay them back? I just think it's a bit of a waste of money buying budget/used tyres, having them on for a short period and then finally buying some proper rubber.

wow....did anyone bother reading what I put?

Here's the quote just in case.

Yes many people have read that. You clearly don't have a clue so everyone has told you to buy some brand new tyres from a selection of brands/types from a respected dsitributor and still you harp on about just buying some part worns.

Open your eyes and smell the glue, just buy some proper tyres brand new it really isn't rocket science!!!!!

At the age of 21 I absolutely HATE asking for money from the parents. I know if I ask they will say yes though, it's the difference between £570 / £400 and I'll of course get some wear out of the part-worn ones.

It's definitely a good idea though, might just ask.

Sorry i don't buy it, you won't change the part worns till you've run them down to Lordmike levels of tyre wear.

I don't care if you buy it or not.

I feel like I'm going to be shot down regardless of what I ask.

Here goes...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-New-205-4...rs_Tyres_RL&hash=item43a4dadbcf#ht_500wt_1156

Listed as new and very close to me. Worth looking at? I do have the funds for more expensive tyres but just checking if that's a potentially good deal.
Those are not even CS2s. They are 'original' SportContacts. God knows how old they are. Avoid.

Seriously, get some proper rubber instead of ****ing money away on partworns.
You'd be stupid to replace them if you do get them as if you're so intent on saving money, you're hardly going to blow £150 on a set of tyres you'll run for a month or two, so I'm with Firestar on this one.

Why didnt you just buy a Clio 1.2 or something that actually fitted your income?

This seems like me rushing out and buying a brand new E92 M3 and then servicing it with Tesco oil and used tyres because I couldnt actually afford to own it....

Because my income will change soon. Even if I don't secure a graduate job soon, there's nothing stopping me from picking up more hours. Anyway, stop asking about my personal life, quite frankly, it's getting on my nerves.

Come on guys, he's bought the car and asking for tyre advice, let's keep it that way please.

Back on topic, honestly think you'll regret spending money on used rubbish when only a short space of time away you'll be in a position of purchasing a new set of decent rubber.

Best I go and buy that M3 then. I mean who knows, perhaps I'll be CEO soon.

Exaggeration much?

Ahhh I see, can't you use the money saved there to put towards a new set? Or was it a case of find the cheapest 182? Not having a pop just interested :)

Where are you based btw?

The former tbh, had to spend £130 on road tax too. Of course, that's no excuse, just another expense. Based in Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

You are getting a hard time here, I agree.

There are plently of mid range sporty tyres in your budget, personally, I find Toyo t1's to be brilliant on FWD hatchbacks, good performance and quite progressive and forgiving.

I do find it a little bit funny that you're very quick to dismiss 'budget' tyres but seem to be perfectly happy with the thought of using part worns :).

Anyway, If being legal is all you care about go to your local tyre place and see what they have. I'd be surprised if they couldn't sort you out for less than £140.

Actually truth be told after having a look at prices in your size I'd be inclined to go with a set of something along the lines of Kumhos or Falkens. Recently stuck a pair of Kumhos on my car and the difference on the back between them and a set of pretty worn (2-3mm) 'premium' (Bridgestone RE50s) tyre is still absolute night and day.

For the sake of a few extra quid over the part worns you've mentioned I don't know why you wouldn't go for a brand new tyre of a 'known' brand.

Why is somebody selling tyres that are only 10% worn? Who removes nearly new tyres?
