Quick upgrade question

Morning!

If I were to upgrade from an FX-6300 to an FX-8350 is it as simply and just swapping over the CPU and away I go? As I didn't install any CPU software am I right in thinking I should just be able to power up and continue from where I left off?

yup take chip out put new one in might want to reset bios as well

What's the reason for upgrading? You might get more bang for your buck out of buying a better cooler and overclocking.
