Does it accept 2 hdd's without loosing optical drive?

Yes, it does (2x160 Gb) or (2x250 Gb)

I do not see why not. Raid is optional ain't it?

I hope someone could chip in, someone more informed. I think that you can enable/disable RAID from BIOS. If you do not go for it you should have two HDDs.
