Quick Windows Question

I want to buy Win 7 HP 64bit.
Ive got a Dell Vostro I want to install it on.
Im going to be doing a new build later this year.
Can I use the same copy (retail version) on my new build, if its already installed on my Vostro?
Or am I going to have to buy the upgrade version for the Vostro and the retail for the new build?

No, you will need to un-install from the laptop then install on the desktop.

retail you can move it, oem you can't

What about this.....you have 1 copy of the retail version and buy an additional license? Can you do that?

When you buy Windows it is the license you are buying. You just happen to get a box with a DVD in it that comes with it.

You're basically going to have to buy another copy of windows, or run something else like Linux on the lapotp if money is tight.
