been asked to set up a cheap wireless network for staff where i work, there are two buildings that need the wireless access. Basically am i right in thinking all i need would be the adsl router from bt (isp will be bt business option 2 so the mdoem router comes automatically with that) and two of the Linksys WAP54G access points, each one connected to a seperate port on the back of the router by ethernet cable? Once installed, if i block everyone apart from mac addresses i add myself from people who are allowed access should i do this on the router or the access points?
thanks for any help

You'd set MAC addresses that are allowed to connect on the AP, but you also need to enable a decent level of encryption or you're wasting your time.

Make sure that you use WPA or WPA2 encryption to secure your network, If any of your devices you wish to use to connect to the Wireless Network only support WEP Encryption upgrade them rather than using an outdated and now relatively insecure form of secutriy.

I would also disable the Broadcastig of the SSID, although this is easly circumvented.

Best of luck with install.

As Tolien said is what I would do. Mac Filtering/WPA2
