Quickest CPU this motherboard can handle?

Hi,

Im no expert when it comes to motherboards and cpu's etc. Just know enough to get me by. Could someone tell me what the quickest cpu this board can handle without causing any bottlenecks please? Im currently running an X2 5600.

looking on the asus site, pretty much any AMD cpu (bar opterons) made in the last 4 years, including the latest and greatest hex-cores

Just make sure you have the latest BIOS. You could try overclocking

As long as update the bios to the newest one which if i remember correctly is 2106 the board will support all current AMD socket am2/am2+/am3 cpu's including the top of the shop Phenom II X6 1090t

Wow seems like there is some life left in the old dog yet. Quite impressed as ive had to board over 2 years now. Might be new CPU time soon in that case lol
