Quickest way to copy my laptop hd to another laptop hd for boot?

Ive got a new harddrive- whats the quickest way to make a replica on my new harddrive and slot it in

ive got a 8gb pendrive, 1tb usb drive and dont mind paying for a program

i had true image on 2010 but it didnt see my usb harddrive with the backup file - read into it a bit more lots of people slating the program

I've had no problem with the 2011 version myself however if you don't want to use Acronis you could look at Clonezilla or Easeus todo backup which are both free.
