Quickest way to humanely kill a small fish ?

As title, I have a very sick neon tetra and am thinking ill put it out its misery, its swollen belly, eyes poping out its head, gasping, its been like this for a week (iv tried to treat it with medicines in a quarantine tank), but its just stayed the same, its also lost nearly all of its colour.

Want to make its death as instant as poss, the only thing I can think of without to much mess is cut its head off with a sharp knife in one quick cut

Could take a brick and squash it outside I guess, but heavy object / stick seems more suitable to large fish, this things tiny. Wanna make it have an instant death if possible.

Any other ways ?

Anything useful ? I hear of ways using vodka or something to kill it ? and something else to put it asleep ?

I don't know if this will work (it does on mackerels), open the mouth and bend the upper lips backwards all the way and it'll snap the neck/back of the fish. Quickest way.

Bit to small for that, also as odd as it sounds it looks seriously diseased so want to try and limit contact with it. Any way of humanely poisoning it ?

ahh good old OCUK comedy, givin what I have available, its gonna have to be put in a bag and wacked with a brick, dont think freezing it will be humane there will be a period of time when the fish gets v uncomfortable and suffers surely ? Just as anyone would being put in a freezer! lol
