Hi. My new build will be:

Q6600 (will overclock but not a great deal)
HD3870 512mb GDDR4
2xSATA300 320gb HHDs

Just looking into airflow for the case (has space for a 120mm fan at front and 92mm on side and rear). Is it critical for a stable temperature please? Am looking for as quiet a system as possible. So would a 800rpm 120mm fan keep temps down low?

Thanks

Yip airflow is critical for good temps.

Have a 120mm fan sucking in air at the front, with a 92mm fan blowing air out the back.

I f you are after quite I would just get a noctua 800 for the front and don't use 92mm ones as they are all noisy unless you volt mod them. The psu acts an exhaust anyway.

As long as your not overclocking the temperatures should be fine.

the 3870 is that a lil noisy ?? you allready got that ?

if so maybe worth after market cooler if you really after quiet

Already got it. New system isn't built yet so don't know how noisy it is.

The noctuas are the quietest aren't they, shame they don't do an led model though. The quietest leds I've found are the Zawards so far.

I like the idea of a 120mm at the back and will look into it.

Thanks for the replies fellas.

You seem to be missing a mobo in your build :p

HA! :p

Am looking at a different cpu cooler now, the Scythe Mini Ninja looks good. Does anyone know how good for overclocking it would be please? And would it be quieter than the stock cooler.

Thanks.
