Quickly compressing video

I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how to quickly and simply compress videos.

Basically I want the smallest and best quality conversion of the short clips that I pull off of my helmet camera.

I've used things like virtual dub in the past or running it through all the output options in Adobe Premier but ultimately if I just want to quickly compress a video at the moment I'm just opening it up in Windows Movie Maker and saving it as virtual dub and Adobe just have too many options for a quick save.

Anyone come across anything that simplifies that any further? Ideally I want to just be able to right click on a file and click "compress" and it will generate a compressed file from a saved set of pre-sets. Or even better, WMM style, you get to choose how big you want the output to be and it compresses accordingly.

To be honest, coding something like this from scratch, with something like FFMepg, isn't beyond me - but if they're something out there already then I'd like to know :)

try saving it on you tube in hd.. usually nice for web viewing and quickly you can then download it.. but plenty of other options so many depends on what format you want it finished in..
