I have been looking at some screencasts and the like to do with Quicksilver, and OMG i can't wait to start using it what an application!!!

but i went to go to the official site to have a look around and it doesnt seem to exist am i being a bit blond?

its supposed to be: http://quicksilver.blacktree.com/

is this not the right program maybe?

Quicksilver is for lazy people :p (Just to annoy Sic ;))

It has it's uses, and is no doubt a great time saver, but damn.. I couldn't get used to it enough to use it full-time.

Not even as an app launcher? The keystroke-reducing learning for commonly launched stuff alone is so rad.

The fastest app launcher I know is "the dock" ;)

It's handy when you tie in plug-ins and have it perform things automatically. For example, open an image with photoshop/preview and automatically scale it down and put it in an email.

  how dare you?!

it's brilliant - I use it to send emails, access my delicious bookmarks, resize images, look up words in the dictionary, add things to my iGTD inbox, control itunes and browse my library - tonnes of stuff!

(and safari is cmd-space 's' enter - much quicker and (more to the point) easier than moving to the trackpad, clicking safari, then going back to the keyboard!)

awesome!

Haha, only messing mate..

I think I could press +space, then type s and press enter to launch Safari.

I haven't tried it, and I'm used to typing "Saf" so don't quote me.

Cheers for that email whilst I was away. Seriously.

I know you're only messing! I do tend to wax lyrical about this app, but it's only because it's changed the way I use computers, and the way I view how applications should work. You know when something is so beneficial to you, you WANT to share it with everyone. Of course you do, you're posting in the mac forum!! :D

no problem dude. it's good to see you decided to come back :)

can i tag on a question regarding quicksilver's shelf feature?

i can only get the shelf to show by invoking quicksilver and THEN pressing cmd+alt+s - it then pops up... however... i should be able to just type shelf but the only option i get is "Shelf & Clipboard (Catalog)" which obviously isn't the shelf but the catalogue options for the shelf...

i'd like to set up a trigger for it also, but since you can only set triggers for things quicksilver can do, i can't set it up... (i know for a fact from screenshots etc that people have "Shelf" -> "Show Contents".

I have enabled the shelf module plugin, enable the "shelf & clipboard" checkbox in the modules part of the catalog, and also enabled the "put on shelf" tickbox in preferences -> actions...

just wondering if anyone knew how to rectify this?

oh and also, how do you remove something from the shelf? (silly question i know but remove is greyed out for me on the right click...)
