I really hate Quicktime and have no intention of using it, but have to have it installed to run Itunes (no suggestions of switching from ITunes thanks)

Since I've formatted my HD and re-installed everything I cannot view a movie file that is on a webpage without it launching it in a Quicktime browser, and even if I run MSCONFIG and take QTASK out of the startup programs it continues to put it back after the next reboot!

I'd just like it to launch streaming videos in Media Player as before, I've check the Quicktime preferences and removed all the file associations for it, so it now can only play QMOV's and also disabled it from the system tray but no avail!

Any suggestions as this is driving me nuts!

OK got it. Thanks for the suggestions guys but I found out the "soft" work around :D

For anyone who has the same problem in future, when Quicktime runs a movie through your browser simply right click on the page and select MIME settings, and then you can de-select all the associated files, bloody stupid program needing to do it in the preferences and there as well, but at least its sorted now ;)
