I have a copy of Quicktime Pro 7 on my win7 Pro machine at work, and it's started throwing a wobbler!!..

I use the program to play online content (recorded seminars etc from our US factory) and stuff from Apple Trailers (in my spare time :) ) by pasting the URL into Quicktime, Both VLC and WMP-HC (which I also have) don't seem to be able to do this for me!

When I open the program from the start menu, by clicking it's icon I get the button appear in my taskbar, but no window appears!, if i hover over the button it looks like the program is corrupt (see pic), it's not clickable or usable for pasting a URL to play! :(

Weirdly, if I click on a local .mp4 or .mov file, the Move window opens no problems and plays the file!

Once I have a video window open I can then paste a URL into the File>Open URL.. dialogue, but that's a bit of a faff!! :(

I've tried re-installing (Repair option), and even a total uninstall and re-install, but it still won't work!...

Any Suggestions would be greatly received! :)

Cheers

What I would try.

Uninstall

Then start, run, %appdata%

Delete any Apple/Quicktime folders

Reinstall.

That's my typical shotgun blast fix for any program with problems.

-Apple make weird software on PC's, they seem to install services all over the place, so this may be bad advice^^^

How do I save the content to my HDD... that's basically what I'm doing with Quicktime!, Hence it being 'Pro' :)

Cheers doods! :)
