Quicktime in browser player - how do you disable it?

As title really. You know when you install quicktime and in your browser it will load the player in the browser, its really annoying and i hate it, is it possible to turn it off? Spent 20 mins trying to figure it out and imm getting annoyed with it now.

can it not be disabled in managed add-ons?

I don't have quick time on my windows machine, I have the codecs for quick time files to allow me you run the videos via media player.
