hi guys,

i use iTunes and as such have to have quicktime installed... now, its not a program i particularly mind like many people, however i would be MUCH happier if i could run my .mov files using MPC using quicktime alternative codecs...

i went to install QTA and it said i need to uninstall Quicktime, but i need that for itunes to run so is there a way to have both? to keep QT on the system but only for use in itunes? then i could use QTA for everything else?

I found that it didn't work when I tried to have both installed, and it was one of the reasons why I had to stop using iTunes.

Are you using iTunes for music or navigating your mp3 player? If it's the latter uninstall them both, and use another program e.g. winamp, to navigate your player and install QTA.

songbird has an itunes plugin, no need for the shocking apple software then

winamp can manage your ipod also..

(drag & drop mp3 players are a godsend)

jeez this thread has been raised from the depths :) - since i started this thread i have moved to mac, so no longer have these issues :) - itunes is an excellent app and quicktime aint half bad either :D

(i'm sorry to say, but the only thing windows is good for these days is music, osx is leagues ahead ;))
