Quidco and Car Insurance Quotes

I have been on all the comparison sites and found the insurance I want, so I thought afterwards about using Quido, but they do not pay out if you have already asked for a quote or retrieved one.
If I now go directly to the insurance companys site and sign in for the insurance there will it be treated as a new quote to Quidco or do the comparison sites leave some sort of marker there to say your details have been quoted for with them

yes multiple times , I always clear out all cookies in the browser, and restart it, before visiting insurance site via quidco

Note that sometimes it can be more expensive going through Quidco than just going direct

Unless that's some uncleared cookies having an impact for me?
