hi

Anyone here use or used quidco? About to order virgin media package- xxl broadband, xl tv with v+, m phone. Price is 56 odd plus the ubiquitous 11 on top line rental plus one off charges around 90. Virgin give -20 off first bill for signing up online.
Thing is quidco give 65 cashback for new virgin media contracts. . . Not used this before and 65 notes is a fair whack to lose if i don't cross the right i or dot the right t.
Any tips advice greatly appreciated, no flaming the grammar spelling etc please as typing on nokia n95 8gb on route to asda as keyboard has just died. Grr.
Cheers craig

the terms and conditions will probably say the cashback gets paid so many months into the contract. thats how it worked when i used quidco for a vodfaone contract

Cant see you having a problem, Ive used Quidco without any problems for yonks, just make sure you are saving cookies and what have you (there is a guide on their site about this) and you will be fine. As "andy" said, dont expect immediate payment, as it takes time for the cash to 'track' and come through to you.

thanks, can live with that, just loathe the idea of not being paid if i don't follow some terms and conditions that i don't know exist until i don't follow them. Or something like that.

Virgin are a 'Sureshop Approved Merchant' so like I said before, you should have no problems, providing your purchase 'tracks' ok. Should a problem occur they will look into it, and resolve it.

Heres my statement from quidco, all payments were paid via BACS without issues, just dont expect your money straight away. :>

cheers guys. New keyboard plugged in and ready to go. I'm installing fire fox and am going to use it for quid co only.

Disable any "internet security" programmes too, they can play havok with tracking cookies (or have done in the past, Norton being a prime example, except on their own websites funilly enough).

I use a seperate browser just for quidco and delete all cookies / history / saved files before each use and never had any problems.

well..

I thought i'd have a 'trial' before sigining up with virgin. I sigend upto the lovefilm trial, sounded good and should allow me to iron out any problems.

I might be jumping the gun but I expected the 'transaction' to show in tracking almost immediately after signing up. Obviously it would then show status as validating etc etc as time ticks on. Unfortunately nothing is showing yet, I'm no pro but far from a noob and am pretty sure I have the browser set up and all additional software disabled as per quidco instructions.

Also has anyone done the lovefilm trial? Wonder if cancelling the free trial means losing the cashback or will i have to wait until next month (and therefore first month bill) before cancelleing. I you have to wait till next month it means I've effectively had a 2 month free trial, and recieved about 30p for the hassle....

i don't mind the admin fee. Everybody's gotta get paid one way or another.

Considering advertising revenue's aren't what they might have been i would have thought that the referral sites will get a kick back themselves and maybe even a percentage of each transaction.

Will hold off on the virgin media until something shows up. . .

This is how I always do it and I've never had a problem:

1. Clear all internet files, cookies, etc.
2. Go to quidco and log in then do the search for virgin
3. Click on there link to go to virgin and sign up through there
4. Give it a couple of days and you should see it being tracked in quidco

it could well be that negotiating with Virgin directly will get you a better deal anyway, their prices are very flexible

I got my quido payment from Virgin even when they told me I couldn't get cable in my area. So my order got cancel but my quido didn't, which has now been paid.

Same happended to me but with Alliance & Leicester. Signed up for an account online via Quidco, £50 cashback got tracked but I changed my mind and cancelled the account shortly after it was opened.

The cashback had tracked but I expected it to drop of until the other day when I noticed the £50 had been received.
