Just need to replace the fan in my PSU, mine has developed a ticking noise. Took mine out to inspect it and i guess the bearings are going or something so just need a quiet but decent performing fan. The one that's in there is 0.5 amp also so im guessing capable of high speeds as my case fans are only 0.28 amp.

Cheers.

cheers, sounds good, any specific one?

edit: could only find one 3pin but the stats look good, same power draw as the fan im taking out so looks like a good match. Got it ordered. Cheers.

I didnt register it anyway m8 so i dont mind about the warranty, besides its not faulty really, most people would probably be happy with the noise its making but im just a bit finicky when it comes to noise. I changed the fan in my last PSU cause it was too noisey for my liking also and that one cost about 3 times the price :)

Turns out the Noctua n14 doesnt spin on the starting voltage the PSU provides, i swapped it with one of my phanteks that i know start at 300 rpm though and its working fine now, much quieter.

The noctua fan seems to require about double the starting voltage of all my other fans. I guess its got an internal resistor as well as the external adapter to slow it down and keep it quiet. I guess ill have to stick it on its own fan header as i dont want my other fans ramping up to double the speed just to get that one started.
