Quiet 200mm fan?

Can anyone suggest a very quiet 200mm fan to replace the stock Corsair fan in my 650D?

I've just put in the BitFenix Spectre PRO 200mm Fan - all black in my 650D and it's made huge difference I also replaced the top fan with two corsair AF140s. One thing you should do is cut out the mesh in front of the 200mm front fan.

I have heard that cutting out the mesh is supposed to make a big difference. Thanks.

Ive cut the mesh out of mine and tested various 200mm fans in the 650D, the quitest and what i currently use are the Cooler Master Megaflow 200mm fans, i also tested the Bitfenfenix Spectre Pro 200mm fans, those are a big improvement on the stock fans but they are louder than the megaflow fans, the Bitfenix ones can make a grating noise as well.

I have a bunch of bitfenix spectre pro fans, 120mm and 140mm and I wouldnt buy them again.

they make scratchy noises every now and again, dont push a lot of air and are noisey for the amount they move.

I had a HAF X case with the coolermaster megaflow 200mm fan, that was silent, moved a metric **** Ton of air and worked well on a fan controller.

Ive also just bought a couple of 200mm Bitfenix Spectre Pro.

They make a nasty scratching noise. This can be sorted by stripping the fan cleaning out the grease and replace it with thick oil.

They are also flimsy and badly balanced causing "thrumming" vibrations at low speeds. Which again can be sorted by adding weights in the right places.

But who wants that sort of hassle.

On a plus side, once fixed, they will run very slowly at 4v pushing a fair amount air quietly and at 12v not to noisy but pushing a claimed 148cfm

Have 3 coolermaster megaflow in mine and are pretty much silent on lowest settings keeping everything cooled.

The thing is Mick as you know, people shouldn't be receiving them like that. I returned 2 of them to overclockers because of the grating/scratching sound, they were very good about it and understood that it can be an anoyance.

Ive been more than happy with the 200mm megaflows.

I agree with you completely and would not recommend them to anyone.

The fans were the main cooling for my radiator and I had already made the cowling for the fans so couldn't really put the 140's back on. Besides I couldn't be arsed returning them and having my PC down for the duration of the RMA.

I keep saying to myself that I should email Bitfenix see what they say, as they are not only noisy but badly designed.
