Quiet AMD CPU Cooler

Currently got the AMD 1600AF, MSI Tomahawk in a be quiet Pure Base 500 case. It's using the stock cooler and although it's not really too loud I wondered if there was a CPU cooler that I could upgrade to that would have a noticeable reduction in the noise? I don't do any overclocking.

Ideally I'd like to spend under £40-50.

Thinking of something like the be quiet Dark Rock Slim CPU cooler 120mm

Brill thank you, according to the specs it's even quieter than the Dark Rock Slim and cheaper! Will have a look at that one.

Will do, it should be OK as the be quiet Pure Base 500 case is quite big.

It'll fit. PB500 will take coolers up to 190mm tall. DR Slim is 159.4mm tall to be exact.

Noctua Nh-u12s. Nice and slim, not too tall and great at managing temps on my 5600x. With the right fan and fan profile it's nice and quiet

Yeah Noctua NHU12S is an excellent choice. Quiet and very cool.

I can't think of any air cooler that won't fit in that case.

Me too on my 3600, it's so quiet I thought I'd screwed up during the install first time I powered on

Thanks all I was undecided between the be Quiet Dark Rock cooler and the Alpenfohn Brocken 3, after the your advice, reading reviews and thinking about price, I'm going to go for the Alpenfohn
