Hello I've had my 9800gx2 for quite a while now and I like it it does everything I need it to and will run every game at ultra high in 1080p. I use headphones so I'm OK with it sounding like a helicopter however everyone else in the house doesn't I currently have my computer in a cm cosmos Pure case which is a good case with reasonable airflow and good sound containment generally. if it wasn't for my graphics card my computer would be near silent.

So I'm looking for a quieter Graphics card which still has the performance I probably want something which is current at the moment like a 5000series ati or even a 400 series nvidia. but preferably ATI can anyone suggest a quite ATI preferably 5800^ would fit my performance requirements just sound is a good bad issue at the moment I will put my specs in Footer but basically I'm running a Intel c2d e8400 an nvidia 780i chip set and my 9800gx2 so yes i know nvidia would be best but I'm planing on upgrading the rest of my system some time soon and will be going full amd/ati as I'm a fan of their value for money and cba to over clock a i7920 atm

thanks

Jon

so tempted

I'm so tempted to go all out and get a Asus rog matrix 5870 but I don't think I could justify the cost at the moment.

thank you for your suggestion I will almost definitely aim for a 5870 I would love to be able to buy a 5970 but I doubt I could take advantage of the performance, although these eyefinity setups interest me I think that will have to wait until I've got a full time job and am out of my parents house.

thankyou for that opinion although I am sad enough to go as full Asus ROG as i can. i dont have really that high performance needs nor that much money realisticly. so yeh i should just go plain

thanks for opinion
