Im still gonna save up for the XL case, its the only case that supports 10hdds and at least made a good effort to keep noise down and quality up, supports the longer gpus and has the space to work with.

If required can always get a side 140mm fan or replace the top fan if it really is whinney....

either way will be interesting too see other reviews of this case

How do they compare to the Cosmos RC1000?

Cosmos is quiet design but cooling wise its design is just too complex with heavily intake limited airflow being drawn away from components by top exhausts.

A review of the Fractal Design XL came out today (I can't post it here due to the site advertising competitors, so just do a Google search). The case came across as disappointing in the review. Apparently sound escapes more easily than in the R3 model, and the cooling performance is lackluster.

Good example about buzzword and hype based marketing at work in destroying functionality:
FD should have left out that chambering which limits whole airflow of the second intake fan to chamber with small minority of heat production.
No doubt results would be better without that artificial limitation... well, at least you can cut away that limitation.

want to see a review of the new Lian Li PC-V1020 case, although I bet this will be expensive as well.

In the past their V-serie mid towers have cost same as A-serie E-ATX full towers.
So probably will be rather expensive for ATX mid tower.

Lian Li PC-A71 and bitumen mat have been available for years.

Yeah dont like the A71, u can mount further hdds but at top on the other side not really my design and thing, prefer to stack them organised and more simple, XLs the 1st ive seen to do it on one side at least. Yeah it can be modded as such, theres always plenty options even the antec 1200 and soundproof material and those 4-5 bay 3.5 caddies....

But again just love Fractual they really put together a nice package, heres hoping the XL will proove successful.
