I'm buying a few bits so I can build a small server for the house (media mostly).
I'm trying to pick a good case and would like some input on which cases and PSUs are really really quiet.
I'm looking at the Antec Sonata III Piano Black Quiet Case - EarthWatts 500W PSU, anyone have any first hand experience with this case?

What would you guys recommend for silent cases and PSUs (and graphics card coolers for a 8600GT/GTS)? PC will only have 1 hard drive for now.

Cheers

I wouldn't get a case which comes with a PSU myself.

What's your budget?

With the case you've linked the case specs may make it appealing for quietness, but I would have thought the PSU was not.

Max £100 on the case and PSU I think. PSU doesnt need to be powerful (AMD X2 4400+, 2gig ram, 8600GT) just good quality and as close to silent as possible

its an antec trupower psu, i have sonata II and its a good psu, not ** usual pap that comes with case/psu combo. dont be expecting the case to be silent, its not, its just your average case, with a fan that can go on a low speed so its quiet

What about good PSU and cheapo case, anyone recommend a near to silent PSU? Theres lots that say they are silent but its difficult to know without hearing them running yourself :/

Zalman heatpipe PSU's look the quietest. Though if you only need 300w there's the silverstone ST30NF, aslong as there's a bit of airflow then you'll be alright as it's fanless.
