Anyone got any advice on a nice quiet chipset cooler?

One caveat though... it has to be very short, not much bigger than a standard one - as my 8800GT gets in the way of putting a Zalman silent Northbridge cooler on.

Anyone using the Akasa AK120, and if so does it have a horrible high pitch whine or not?

I think thermaltake(thermalright??) do a passive one that has a bend in the heat pipes so it is out of the way of 8800 cards.

Thanks Tefal, found it - Thermalright HR-05-SLI passive Northbridge cooler, only thing is its not going to fit in my ickle case in a month of Sundays

Might have to go with the Akasa, as its probably the only thing that will fit.
Last gasp of the 939 brigade.... drooling over an 8200 based system that im building up for a mate... could be spring upgrade time soon!

Its a shame there isn't such a thing as a 40mm to 60mm adapter so a quieter fan could be fitted to a lot of coolers. If only I was competant enough to make my own...

PK!

depending on how diy capable you are, i've seen people use the zalman you're on about, bascically they bend the fins so their gfx card slots in ok, and doesnt seem to affect temps.
