So finally my Fatal1ty headset died after about 6 years of usage. I am in the market hence to replace them. A bit tired of tripping over the cabling and getting it caught in the chair too, so looking for a wireless replacement with a budget of £150 ish.

I largely use them at home for work for work, so mic is essential. I do not do any gaming but do listen to a lot of music while crunching away at the keyboard. It is unlikely i will travel with them as i have a pair of jabras 65t's.
I have a pair of AKG 550 (MKII ?) reference headphones but i do not like the signature as they are a bit tinny.

Spent some time reading the recent threads and i can see a lot of suggestions on DT770/990 + mod mic , but a wired setup is something which does not appeal to me at the moment and would really like the flexibility to get up from the desk and move about when in a call.

No audiophile , so i do not have any amps/dacs to plug the headset into. Would like a easy to setup kit.

Cheers!

I can't recommend the quiet comfort 35ii enough. They're brilliant. I've had them for a few years and still brilliant quality. Really comfortable too, no troubles wearing for extended periods. I had the Jabra Elite Active 65ts (mainly for running or if I'm in the office with colleagues so I can just wear one) and whilst they were brilliant, they just don't compare to the QCs.

I don't have any experiences with anything else so can't comment on where the QC35IIs rank among others but I can certainly recommend them.

If you go into the shops and find a pair, you should be able to try them out to see if you like them before you buy if they have any out (which they always seem to be where I am).

comfort 35ii enough if your like me with a beard your going to be replacing the ear muffs each yr ...but well worth it :)

I've found the bluetooth connection on the BOSE to be a bit crap. They would cut out it i turned my head the wrong way whilst watching tv... I've just bought some sony's. Not had time to test properly yet but no bluetooth issues as yet.

All up to date. If i cup the right ear they go off straight away. Cant use them with my PC as its under the table and if I turn my head they go off..

Maybe they are faulty!!

How long have you had them? I'd take those back if they're still in warrantee. Never had those issues. I can go through my house without it disconnecting. Don't get me wrong, it's no mansion, but still.

Had then a few years now.. Bought them off the MM from a freebie with a mobile phone...There are some complaints online regarding stuttering

They are great listening via mobile in close proximity. I've got a set of Sony XM4's now so alls good

Spent a couple more hours reading and ended up with a G6 + DT770 combo. Not pleased about the wires, but wireless headsets seem to have a host of issues running on a PC (codecs/compatibility). Waiting for them to arrive over the next couple of days.

Still need to figure out a mic situation. Looked at modmics , but seems will add more clutter to the tiny desk-space i have , wifi is just too expensive to justify. Might get a cheapo mic to add to the setup.

Thanks for all your responses.

Just got myself a G6 to go with my Philips Fidelio X2's and the difference from on-board is amazing!

Awesome! 770's arrived today and been driving them.... the cans sound great, clean separation , highs might be a little to sharp for me , but hoping they will break in and change tonality .

I was hoping a little more bass from them unfortunately. Awaiting delivery of G6 tomorrow. Will try to EQ it.
