In the process of putting the finishing touches to my order and have a question about cooling...

MB: Asus Z270 Gaming E
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX

Cooler choice is between Noctua NHD15, Noctua NH-D15S, Cryorig R1 ultimate, Cryorig R1 universal with an AIO such as Corsair H115i as an outside choice.

Looking for compatibility with the RAM (not expecting problems as it is low-profile) and no interference with PCI-E slots but overriding everything else is the desire for low noise levels - the PC needs to be quiet. Not looking for ultimate silence but silent at idle or when web-browsing would be a good start :)

Possibly some mild overclocking involved but not trying to crack the 5ghz mark (will be using a 7700k)

I'm seeing it as Noctua NHD15 is quietest but may have PCI-E slot problems so NHD15S might be an option. Cryorig R1 Ultimate is best air performer but not as quiet as Noctua with R1 universal being more compatible but not quite as good temperature wise. Corsair AIO would be good (I'm hoping to get a commander mini and could use the Corsair link software) and offers most compatibility and probably cooling performance but is it likely to be a lot noisier than a decent fan or just slightly noisier - both at idle and at higher temperatures? Had an Antec Kuhler for a few years and the pump/fans were always audible even at rest despite me swapping the fans for some quieter alternatives - which would be an option again if necessary.

For what it's worth case is Corsair Carbide 600Q and standard case fans wll be swapped for Corsair ML140

Thanks in advance :)

I second the Noctua D15, as is comes very close to the performance of the Corsair H115I if not better in some cases and its quiet as BriT says.

Still yet to install mine waiting for other parts, been sat in my cupboard for two weeks.
