Hello,

Just wondering what will be an effective cooling solution for my P4 northwood (478), am not into watercooling or overclocking my system, just something that is relatively quiet compared to my retail fan

Thanks in advance

thanks for the replys,

the zalman 7700 looks quite good, always been a a bit unsure how to fit these tho

Have a look Here :)

EDIT:

/\ndy, sorry about the link I gave, it is completely irrelevant to the question you asked, my mind must have been elsewhere. :o

ThermalTake Big typhoon or Scythe Ninja Plus :D I have both and the Ninja was a lot easier to fit. They are both completely silent even if your not overclocking they are great coolers

huge choice of decent sinks:

zalman 9500
freezer 4
tt bt
ninja
noctua nh9/12

if you have a realy big case and space between mobo and psu then get the thermaltake big typhoon or noctua's.

ninja and zalman for medium sized case and the freezer 4 if your case is small is its a small but very good sink.

I wouldnt call the freezer 4 a small sink heh its quite high in size, pretty quiet sink had one for about a year now :)

im planning on getting the zalman 9500 myself, right now i have the stock heatsink that came with the p4, which i run at around 50-70% speed using speedfan as its seriously loud at 100%. Its pretty quiet at those speeds, but i want to get the zalman so it can (hopefully) run more efficiently at lower rpms
