Getting a 4690k delivered this week and an Asus Z97-A mobo... I have a full tower Fractal Design XL case from 2012.. Fan noise bugs me a lot... Its as if i'm extra sensitive to it...
What are my best options for cooling cpu this 4690k for a reasonable overclock that is quiet. Even on my Sandy i7 2600k, i ended up running it at stock cos the extra fans spinning up would annoy me.... Cooler i used was a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Besides back then, it ran every game i threw at it, at 60fps vsync enabled with ease.
Anyway that was three yrs ago, and games are becoming more demanding, so i went ahead and ordered a new Z97 mobo, 4690k and GTX980.
I want a quiet cooling solution, that isn't a complete overpowering fugly beast like the Noctua D15. and that i can't hear....
Any good pointers?
